Richard Galli worked on his second novel. His second book, Of Rice and Men (Random House 2006), was an affectionately comic novel based on his experience as a Vietnamese interpreter in 1970-71. His first book, Rescuing Jeffrey (Algonquin Books/Workman 2000), is a memoir. In 2007, he was embedded as a freelance writer with Army soldiers performing Civil Affairs missions in Iraq. He has been a litigation lawyer since 1976 and currently practices part-time.
