Richard Montoya is a filmmaker and playwright who lives in Los Angeles, CA. During his time at MacDowell, he continued writing several screenplays and plays and a watchable TV show. Montoya also worked on a play about the building of Venice, CA, for the Mark Taper Forum, a play called NOGALES for Campo Santo in San Francisco, and a musical about the origins of Chicano Rock & Roll. He is a Sundance Fellow and story teller.

The Helen Coolidge Mansfield Studio was donated by graduates of the Mansfield War Service Classes for Reconstruction Aides. Helen Mansfield helped found the New York MacDowell Club.
