Active in the New York poetry scene of the 1960s, Robert David Cohen was also a writer, performer, and journalist. Later in that decade, he moved to Mexico with Margaret Randall, with whom he co-edited El Corno Emplumado/The Plumed Horn from 1968-1969. After living in Cuba for the following decade, Cohen returned to the United States to work as a journalist at the United Nations and in Washington D.C. In 1990, he joined UNICEF as a speech writer and then communication officer. After retiring in 2008, Cohen co-founded the communication consulting company, Rain Barrel Communications.
