I'm a writer currently living in San Francisco, California. Originally from Missouri, I lived in Chicago, Illinois and Iowa during graduate school before moving to the West Coast where I teach creative writing at the University of San Francisco. My essay collection If You Knew Then What I Know Now was published in 2011 by Sarabande Books, and my work has also appeared in journals and anthologies including The Best American Essays.
