Sam Grabiner is a playwright. His play Boys on the Verge of Tears is the winner of the Verity Bargate Award, and was directed by James MacDonald in a production at London's Soho Theatre in 2024. He is the writer-in-residence at The National Theatre and is under commission from Manhattan Theatre Club.

He is a graduate of the clown school L'ecole Philippe Gaulier and his plays are published by Faber & Faber.

Sam Grabiner worked in the MacDowell studio.

Built in 1912, Pine Studio was renamed MacDowell Studio in 1943 in recognition of support from a group of Edward MacDowell’s music students. It was built as a composers’ studio and the stuccoed walls were intended to be soundproof.
