Sandy Walker was born in Washington, D.C. and lives and works in Oakland, California. He was educated at Harvard College (B.A.), Boston University School of Fine Arts, New York Studio School, and Columbia University (M..FA.). He has had many solo shows including at the Grace Borgenicht Gallery in New York, Brian Gross in San Francisco, the Meridian Gallery in San Francisco, List Visual Arts Center at MIT, Cleveland Museum of Art, Triton Museum, San Jose Art Museum, and the Ulrich Museum of Art. His work is represented in many public collections including MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Achenbach Foundation in San Francisco.
