Sarah Falkner worked on her second novel, Quarry: A Natural History, as well as the multimedia performance project Rewilderment (a collaboration with Ryder Cooley). Her first novel, Animal Sanctuary, won the 7th Starcherone Prize for Innovative Fiction, and is excerpted in the October online edition of The Brooklyn Rail.

Marian MacDowell and friends originally named this studio in memory of Anna Baetz, the nurse who helped care for Edward MacDowell in the waning years of his life.
