Sen Chung was born in 1963 and lives and works in Dusseldorf, Germany. He received a B.F.A. from Hong-Ik University in Korea, received a master’s from the Dusseldorf Art Academy, and an M.F.A. from the Chelsea College of Art in London in 2006. This was followed by solo exhibitions in the Netherlands, the United States, France, Belgium, and Germany, as well as numerous international group exhibitions, in London, Seoul, New York, and Liverpool.
The contrast between forms and non-forms characterizes the tension found in both his paintings and paper works. On cloudy backgrounds with accentuated light pedestal, colored squares, circles, or dots are connected to lines in the center of the picture. The compositional frame thus created is the figure within the pictures, sometimes central, sometimes crooked.
