Serena W. Lin believes writing is a political act of connection. She cuts her teeth on monsters, myth, and magic. Serena writes fiction, poetry, plays, and essays and is at work on a first novel. Her stories have appeared in outlets such as Drunken Boat/Anomaly, cream city review, Rumpus, Bitch, and Hyphen. For nearly a decade in L.A., Serena served as first a public defender and then as a community lawyer focused on environmental, racial, and economic justice. Serena lives with one foot in the Bay Area and the other in Brooklyn.
