Soo Shin was born in Seoul, Korea in 1981. She moved to the United States in 2008 to develop her practice, which incorporates drawing, painting, and sculpture. She is constantly looking for new materials and experimenting with new mediums to find efficient ways to communicate with her audience. She has shown her work in a variety of locations such as Seoul, Chicago, Detroit, New York, and Berlin. She finished her M.F.A. degree at the Art Institute of Chicago in the spring of 2011.
