Steph Del Rosso is a playwright, fiction writer, screenwriter, and educator. Her plays have been produced or developed at Second Stage, The Public, La Jolla Playhouse, The Kennedy Center, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, The Los Angeles Theatre Center, JACK, and others. They are published by Concord Theatricals and Dramatists Play Services.

Del Rosso is a Core Writer at the Playwrights’ Center and a New Georges Audrey Resident. She is a winner of the Steinberg Playwright Award, the Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Award, and the Mississippi Review Prize in Fiction. Her work has received fellowships and support from the Bogliasco Foundation, The Headlands Center for the Arts, Willapa Bay, SPACE on Ryder Farm, and others.

She is a former Theater Masters Visionary Playwright and an alum of the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab and Clubbed Thumb’s Early Career Writers’ Group. She received her M.F.A. from UC-San Diego.

At MacDowell, Del Rosso finished a draft of her new play, Adjuncts, about friendship and workplace organizing. She also started another new play and worked on several short stories.

Phi Beta

Steph Del Rosso worked in the Phi Beta studio.

Funded by the Phi Beta Fraternity, a national professional fraternity of music and speech founded in 1912, Phi Beta Studio was built between 1929–1931 of granite quarried on the MacDowell grounds.
