Stephan Brigidi is an American photographer, artist, teacher, and author. His work has been widely exhibited throughout the United States and Europe. Brigidi was a Fulbright-Hays Fellow to Italy followed by a Photographer’s Fellowship from the National Endow­ment for the Arts, along with other numerous grants and awards.

Publications include a collaboration with the poet, Robert Bly, on Angels of Pompeii, published in 1991. Remarkable People is Brigidi’s second book published in 1995. Afraid of the Dark: A Venetian Story, was published in 2015 and The Fire of Rome completed in 2017. Brigidi has also completed his fifth book, Portrait as an Artist’s Limited Edition in 2018. Daylight Books has published Brigidi’s newest title, ROME 1970s in 2019.

Brigidi has taught photography, painting, and aesthetics since 1979 at such places as the Universities of Hawaii and Connecticut, Rhode Island College, and for many years at Rhode Island School of Design. His photography has been acquired by more than 30 museums in the U.S. and Europe.
