Stephen Kuusisto worked on a novel about the mysteries of voice and how a man who grew up in the poorest slums of Naples, Italy, could achieve levels of operatic excellence that remain unrivaled: the world’s first international singing superstar, the “Great Caruso.” While in residence he also worked on a new poetry manuscript entitled, Old Horse, What is to Be Done?, which was published on Tiger Bark Press. Kuusisto is a poet and nonfiction writer who has recently published his third memoir, Have Dog, Will Travel: A Poet's Journey.
