A former architect, Steve Zehentner is a filmmaker, theater designer/director, and archivist based in New York City. For over 22 years he has designed and codirected Penny Arcade’s shows, creating original staging and sound and video elements. During performances, he typically mixes a live sound score that follows the energy of Arcade’s improvisations, creating form and direction on the fly. In 2014, Zehentner worked with Arcade on a new performance piece, Longing Lasts Longer. As of late 2022, the work had been performed 207 times in 47 cities around the world, winning many awards in international festivals and was still touring.
