Steven J. Simmons has been a professor of law and government, a White House aide on demestic policy, and a leader int eh cable industry. He is a graduate of Cornell University and Harvard Law School. Steven has taught constitutional law and a course on Congress at the University of California. His writings have been published in Columbia Law Review, University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and the Harvard Journal of Legislation.

Steven is the author of the best-selling children's book, Alice and Greta: A Tale of Two Witches. He was inspired to write the story while playing with his children on a hill behind his home. In an interview on The Today Show, Steven said that he felt a "spontaneous combustion" as the story took shape in his mine. He visits schools and reads his stories to many classroom full of eager listeners.

Steven is also the author of Jasper: The Fish Who Saved a Marriage (Charlesbridge, 1998; o.p.) and Percy to the Rescue (Charlesbridge, 1998; o.p.). In addition to his successful children's stories, he has also written The Fairness Doctrine and the Media (University of California Press).
