The recipient of grants from the Bunting Institute, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Fulbright Foundation, Sue Standing has published four collections of poems and teaches creative writing and African literature at Wheaton College (MA). She has collaborated with visual artists (Katherine Kadish and the Printmakers Network of Southern New England) and composers (David Froom and Louis Karchin). She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

At MacDowell in 2005, Sue worked on poems for her fifth poetry collection tentatively titled Trace. She recently won a Pushcart Prize for her short story, "Fast Sunday."

Sorosis

Sue Standing worked in the Sorosis studio.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
