Tamara Kennelly is an American author who is the University Archivist at Virginia Tech. She earned a B.A. and an M.A. in English literature from the University of Illinois, an M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Iowa, and an M.L.I.S. from the University of Kentucky. She co-authored a chapter in Listening on the Edge. Kennelly is the recipient of fellowships from MacDowell in 1979 and the National Endowment for the Arts in 1983

Marian MacDowell and friends originally named this studio in memory of Anna Baetz, the nurse who helped care for Edward MacDowell in the waning years of his life.
