Tara Geer received her M.F.A. from Columbia University School of the Arts where she received the Joan Sovern Prize, & the Loius Sudler Prize, and a B.A. from Columbia University with a double major in Art History and Visual Arts. Her compositions balance intricate tangles of lines, scrawls, and smudges, with empty areas of white paper. Mixing media such as charcoal, chalk, and pastel, she gives her drawings a broad range of tonal values and rich sense of texture.
