Terence Nance is an artist born and raised in Dallas, Texas among a family of artists and artsy types. He made the films An Oversimplification of Her Beauty (Sundance 2012) and Swimming in Your Skin Again (Sundance 2016). He also makes installations and friendships. Terence currently resides in Bed Stuy, but that might not last too long because the rent is too damn high.
At MacDowell, Terence completed the final edit of his TV pilot entitled Random Acts of Flyness, scheduled to premiere in 2018, and worked on several songs for his upcoming album, Our Philandress Godess.
Given
to the MacDowell Association by Margaret Adams of Chicago, the
half-timbered, stuccoed Adams Studio was designed by MacDowell Fellow
and architect F. Tolles Chamberlin ca. 1914. Chamberlin was
primarily a painter, but also provided designs for the Lodge and an
early renovation of the main hall.
