Tina Barr is an American poet and educator from Long Island, NY, living and working in Black Mountain, NC. Barr received degrees from Sarah Lawrence College, Columbia University, and Temple University, and has published numerous works, including The Gathering Eye (2004), Kaleidoscope (2015), and Red Land Black Land (2002). Barr’s upcoming work, Green Target, has an upcoming publication for fall of 2018, and was awarded the Barrow Street Press Book Prize. Barr’s poetry has been featured in more than 100 publications across America, such as the American Book Review, Arts and Letters, Harvard Review, and The American Poetry Review. Additionally, her work has been published in numerous anthologies, including the Southern Poetry Anthology, the Annual Survey of American Poetry: 1985, and Deep Travel: Contemporary Poets Abroad.

Tina Barr worked in the Phi Beta studio.

Funded by the Phi Beta Fraternity, a national professional fraternity of music and speech founded in 1912, Phi Beta Studio was built between 1929–1931 of granite quarried on the MacDowell grounds.
