While at MacDowell, filmmaker Tiziana Panizza edited her documentary Materia Fósil, which she filmed for seven years in Southern Patagonia. She wrote texts for the film that confront footage collected from archives in various institutions. The footage she is using are the first films made in this part of the world.
She has recently been awarded a grant from the Ministry of the Arts in Chile to carry out training workshops for archivists from the south and to finish the film.
Tiziana Panizza worked in the Delta Omicron studio.
Delta Omicron Studio was funded by members of the international musical fraternity in 1927. The building design is somewhat medieval in character, with an unusual cedar shingle pattern, a steeply pitched slate roof, intersecting gables, and small windows.
