Traci Dant is a fiction writer and poet. Her poetry has been featured on NPR’s Writer’s Almanac with Garrison Keillor and published by literary journals like Crab Orchard Review and PoemMemoirStory. Her work has also been recognized by the Cave Canem Foundation, MacDowell, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and the Illinois Arts Council.

She has a master’s of fine arts in creative writing from Washington University in St. Louis. Her first picture book for children entitled, Some Kind of Love: A Family Reunion in Poems, was published by Marshall Cavendish in April 2010.

Traci was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois. She currently lives in Oswego, Illinois with her husband and two children.

Phi Beta

Traci Dant worked in the Phi Beta studio.

Funded by the Phi Beta Fraternity, a national professional fraternity of music and speech founded in 1912, Phi Beta Studio was built between 1929–1931 of granite quarried on the MacDowell grounds.
