Vishal Jugdeo is an interdisciplinary artist who works with video, installation, performance, and sculpture to approach narrative in experimental ways. He was a 2015 Guggenheim Fellow, and his work has been featured in Performa 13 in New York, Made in LA at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, and at the Witte De With Center for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam. He is currently developing a large-scale video project with a group of young, queer, predominantly POC poets, artists, and activists from around the globe. They are people he has met during his research and travels, and the project will feature a blend of fiction and documentary.
Vishal Jugdeo worked on editing sections of what has now become a feature film called VQUEERAM, an experimental documentary made in collaboration with Vikram "Vqueeram" Aditya Sahai, a poet and activist based in Delhi, who identifies as gender non-binary. In addition, Vishal wrote a pilot episode of a television show which he will self-produce in the coming year.
