Wade Patrick Kavanaugh was born in Bethel, Maine. He received a B.A. in Economics from Bowdoin College in 2001 and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Kavanaugh is best known for his collaborations with Stephen B. Nguyen on installation art. The two joined forced in 2005 to create art based on “shared seeing.” They use art to actively investigate visual reference points, memories, and assumptions. Kavanaugh has been both a Fellow at MacDowell and an Ellis-Beauregard Fellow at the Center for Main Contemporary Art.

Heinz

Wade Kavanaugh worked in the Heinz studio.

The icehouse, built of fieldstone in 1914–1915, was a practical part of Marian MacDowell’s plan for a self-sufficient farm.
