Wiesław Borowski (1935-1989) was a Polish painter and educator. He studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (1955-1961) under the supervision of prof. Eugene Arcta, then (to the diploma) with prof. Jan Cybis. In the 1960s, he participated in regional and nationwide exhibitions. In 1965 he went on a French government scholarship to Paris, then he went to the U.S. on a MacDowell Fellowship. He returned to Poland permanently in 1975. In addition to painting, he worked periodically as a teacher of art education and as an industrial designer.
