Will Hermes is a contributing editor to Rolling Stone, a longtime contributor to National Public Radio's “All Things Considered,” and author of Love Goes To Buildings On Fire: Five Years In New York That Changed Music Forever, a New York Times Book Review Editor's Choice selection in 2011. His writing has appeared in a wide variety of publications, including The New York Times Magazine, Slate, The Believer, The Village Voice, and has been featured twice in the Da Capo Best Music Writing series. He's taught journalism and creative writing in all sorts of workshop and academic settings, most recently at NYU. He's currently writing a book about Lou Reed.

Will Hermes worked in the Wood studio.

Wood Studio, given to the residency program by Mrs. Frederick Trevor Hill, was completed in 1913 in memory of Mrs. Hill’s mother, Helen Ogden Wood. Like Schelling Studio, the building is sided with large, overlapping pieces of hemlock bark.
