Rozanne (Zan) Knudson (1933-2008) was a writer who attended Brigham Young University, University of Georgia, and Stamford. She was the author of more than 40 books on sports and fitness, including a sports novel for girls. She also co-authored several weight training books for women and water workout manuals with Franco Colombo and Lynda Huey respectively.

In 1988, Knudson and Swenson, her longtime companion and literary executor, collaborated on the anthology, American Sports Poems, which was named one of the top 100 books for young adults. Knudson also taught for 13 years.
