Her paintings and augmented reality installations are expanding institutional and public space across the Philadelphia region, with her recent installation in the Philadelphia International Airport being the first to combine painting and augmented reality in an installation in the airport.
While at MacDowell, Vance completed her visual essay, which included 35 sequential illustrative ink drawings. The essay reflected the artist's imagined reencounters with her internal society. A peripatetic diaspora traveler, Vance's oeuvre was inspired by many experiences and memories of her youth, her roots in China, and her life in the United States.
