Zygmunt Krauze is a Polish composer of contemporary classical music, educator, and pianist. He is an important and respected artist of his generation, organizer of many musical events, and often a judge in international competitions. Krauze boasts numerous artistic achievements including, the French National Order of the Legion of Honour, the Chevalier dans l’Ordre, and many more. He was appointed President of the International Society for Contemporary Music in 1987, became an honorary member of the Polish Composers’ Union in 2011, and was awarded the title of Coryphaeus of Polish Music in the category of Personality of the Year. His repertoire includes six operas, music for theatre, unitary music, and choral pieces. He has lectured and taught at Yale University, Keimyung University in South Korea, the Academy of Music in Lodz, and Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, Poland.
