Historian, New York Times-bestselling author, visual artist, and MacDowell Fellow and board chair Nell Irvin Painter presented her new book of essays, I Just Keep Talking, in conversation with New Yorker staff writer Doreen St. Félix. Named one of Lit Hub’s Most Anticipated Books of 2024, this collection compiles over 40 of the most vibrant and insightful essays from Painter's illustrious career.

After the conversation, Painter signed books, and a celebratory reception in the Center for Fiction's café followed.
