Choreographer Kyle Abraham has curated a Platform event of dance performances this spring, at Danspace Project, New York City. We (Bebe Miller Company) have been invited to perform. His prompt for us -- how does nature’s relationship with humanity communicate/jostle/live in your body? -- has resonated with (and rubbed up against) my MacDowell time, in residence and in community. The world doesn’t wait for an explanation, and yet we persist. Our living together depends on the generative rub between us, in relation to the moment at hand; our dancing together depends on the same. We’re counting on the ground between us all to take us home.
